AUSTIN, Texas – It’s almost time to head back to school which means the Austin ISD Back to School Bash and Safety Fair is even sooner.

  • 8 a.m. to noon
  • Palmer Events Center

The 14th year of the Back to School Bash and Safety Fair is Saturday, August 3.

There will be free backpacks filled with school supplies for AISD students that attend the event. Additionally, there will be free health screenings, booster seats, and presentation on safety and educational best practices.

Families who do not speak English will be assisted by translators who will be present at the event. If you’re looking for help with transportation to the event, AISD will be providing free transportation from some area schools. You can see the full list of those schools here.

Volunteers, including several Spectrum News staff members, joined together to fill the 4,500 backpacks full of school supplies on Wednesday.

 

 

Over 120 organizations will be at the Saturday event providing information and resources for families participating.
