AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin police say one man was killed in what appears to have been a shootout that occurred early Friday morning.

Police said about 1:47 a.m. patrol officers heard gunshots ring out in the area of 11800 N. Lamar Blvd., which is located west of Interstate 35 and north of East Braker Lane.
When the officers arrived, they located a vehicle that appeared to have been in a collision. When officers approached, they located a man slumped over the steering wheel.
The man, Joseph Anthony Aguilar Campos, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at 2:18 a.m.
The investigation indicates a gun battle took place. The shooter has not been located.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses who were at a nearby hookah lounge.
