TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas -- A Travis County deputy was injured in a crash that took place in the area of Highway 290 and Tuscany Way shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The westbound 290 frontage road was closed to traffic but reopened a few hours later.

There was no immediate word on how the crash occurred. The deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment, however. The Travis County Sheriff's Office just after 10:30 a.m. reported via Twitter that the deputy has been released from the hospital and the crash remains under investigation.
