BURNET COUNTY, Texas – Two workers were killed after a metal utility pole fell on them at a job site in Burnet County.

On Saturday, June 1, around 3:40 p.m., Burnet County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a job site on undeveloped land near State Highway 71, south of Horseshoe Bay. Marble Falls Area EMS determined that two workers had died on duty.

A surviving worker told police that a 9,000- to 10,000-pound metal utility pole fell on the two men during lifting operations.

The men have been identified as 30-year-old Patrick Sheesley, from Wilson, Kansas, and 49-year-old Bryan Weatherford, from Windwood, Oklahoma.

They were working for Maslonka Powerline Services, which is under contract with Pedernales Electric Cooperative.

Autopsies of the two men have been ordered. The incident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
