AUSTIN, Texas – An all-girl Scouts troop raised the flags at the Office of the Governor on Tuesday to honor the passage of the 19th Amendment 100 years later.

On June 4, 1919, Congress passed the 19ths Amendment allowing women the right to vote. The amendment prohibits voting discrimination based on sex.

On the anniversary 100 years later, a group of young girls gathered to show their own strides in gender equality. Recently the Scouts BSA made the decision to allow girls into the troops for the first time in history.
