LCRA partially opened a floodgate at Tom Miller Dam at around 1 p.m. Sunday. LCRA will also resume releases through hydroelectric generation at Mansfield and Tom Miller dams on Sunday.
(ORIGINAL STORY)
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) says levels in the Colorado River and downstream of Mansfield Dam have risen due to the storms Friday night.
- Currently no flood operations at dams
- Lake Travis rising
- Tom Miller Dam to be re-opened soon
The floodgate at Tom Miller Dam that was opened Friday night is closed for now. As of Saturday morning there are no floodgate operations at the dams along the Highland Lakes.
LCRA is using hydroelectric generation to move water from Buchanan, Inks, Wirtz, and Starcke dams downstream into Lake Travis. The level of Lake Travis is expected to rise to between 683 and 685 feet above mean sea level by Sunday.
LCRA has stopped releases through hydroelectric generation at Mansfield Dam until conditions improve along the Colorado River downstream of the dam.
LCRA also plans to re-open the floodgate at Tom Miller after downstream flood conditions improve and releases through hydroelectric generation at Mansfield Dam are increased over the next day or two.
