AUSTIN, Texas – On Friday, a plane with Honor Flight Austin departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport en route to Washington D.C.
- 50 veterans on flight
- Fought in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War
- First Honor Flight of 2019
The flight transported 50 veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War to the nation’s capital to visit and experience the memorials built in their honor.
Before they boarded the plane, there was a procession led by the TSA Honor Guard and Austin Police Department Bag Pipes.

The veterans are scheduled to return Saturday, April 6, and arrive in Austin at 5:45 p.m. The public is invited to a welcome home greeting, located upstairs in west ticketing. Anyone wishing to attend is advised at arrive at 5:30 p.m.
The journey is Honor Flight No. 57 and the first of 2019.
