AUSTIN — The largest 10,000 kilometer race in Texas takes over Downtown Austin Sunday.
- At least 22,600 runners have registered
- Event benefits Health Alliance for Austin Musicians
- Race is Sunday in Downtown Austin
Cap10K race director, Jeff Simecek, says over 22,600 runners have registered as of Friday morning and he expects a few hundred more to sign up before the race. In the last two days of registration last year, Simecek estimated over 700 runners joined the final count.
This year's beneficiary is the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, a local non-profit that helps musicians access health care. A cause, Simecek says, is a perfect fit for the race.
Registration ends Saturday at 5 p.m. For more on race routes, road closures, and packet pick up, click here.
