Victoria Maranan is a Spectrum News Austin reporter and is proud to have been helping keep Austin weird for the past five years. While Victoria is new to Austin, she’s been a Texan her entire life. Throughout her time in the Lone Star State, she’s learned that explaining Texas to an outsider comes down to two main points: everything is bigger here, and I-35 is the enemy.
Victoria is an Emmy-nominated reporter who has covered countless stories throughout her time on the Spectrum News team. However, her coverage of a 5-year-old cancer patient remains her most impactful to this day. Ever since her eye opening coverage of the effects cancer takes on such a young life, she’s made volunteering with local cancer organizations a main priority in her life.
When Victoria isn’t spending her time sharing stories or volunteering, you can find her hanging out with her dog and cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs.
