AUSTIN, Texas -- Avengers: Endgame fever is hitting Central Texas and across the country.

The Alamo Drafthouse posted on Twitter that Wednesday was their biggest day for ticket sales ever.

They went on to say that the movie sold about three times as many tickets as Avengers: Infinity War's first day on sale. Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26.

According to Fortune.com, the fourth film in the Marvel superhero series is expected to set a weekend box-office record when it opens. Exhibitor Relations, a research company in the field of entertainment research and data, predicts $282 million in North American ticket sales.

If that holds true, it would top the $258 million mark set last year by Avengers: Infinity War.
