AUSTIN, Texas — A group is trying to stir up support to get one of Austin’s most notable buildings “fixed.”

  • Group Fix the Crown doesn't like top of Austin Independent
  • Building also known as "Jenga Tower"
  • Started a petition to get it fixed

The group Fix the Crown is asking the developers, architects and the contractor of the Independent Austin, sometimes referred to as the "Jenga Tower," to take a second look at the building, saying the top looks unfinished.

The group started an online petition, a Facebook and an Instagram page, encouraging others to share their feelings about the building.

“The Independent is an award-winning design and otherwise beautiful skyscraper; what could be the crowning achievement of Austin is simply not,” according to the group's online petition.

The petition has generated almost 500 signatures as of Friday afternoon.

According to the building's website, the Austin Independent was completed in 2018 and is the tallest residence west of the Mississippi River.
