AUSTIN, Texas – Warmer weather is in the air and signs of spring are showing at parks all across the Austin area.

From hiking, to swimming, camping, or boating, the city of Austin has plenty of options to escape the city and bask in nature. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has nearly 20 state parks in and around the Austin area.

While some may take a bit of a drive, such as the popular Enchanted Rock State Park out west or Lake Somerville at Birch Creek Union State Park out east, there are a plethora of options in-between.
