AUSTIN, Texas — Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) says it is well prepared for South by Southwest and this year’s Spring Festival.

On Tuesday ATCEMS launched its Activated Patient Collection Point in downtown Austin. ATCEMS is showing an increased presence downtown with more medics in ambulances, motorcycles, and off-road vehicles.
ATCEMS is also sharing daily reports of its responses during SXSW. The incident summaries will be released via Twitter. This is also the third year ATCEMS will be providing a live audio feed of its radio traffic from the downtown area.
ATCEMS has already been busy responding to more incidents downtown during SXSW. Medics responded to at least 51 incidents in the 12-hour period between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Thursday. Out of 32 patients, 12 were taken to a hospital.
