AUSTIN, Texas - Tuesday is Inauguration Day in Austin. Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick will be sworn into office.

  • Event to culminate with Texas Inaugural Ball 

This will mark the second inauguration for both Republican leaders. It might get loud. The Texas National Guard is set to stage a military flyover and there will be a 19-gun salute.

The ceremony, which gets underway at 11 a.m., will take place on the north side of the Texas State Capitol.

The ceremony will be followed by an inaugural barbeque at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday on the Capitol grounds. At 8 p.m. the Texas Inaugural Ball gets underway at the Palmer Events Center on Barton Springs Road.

The Inaugural Ball will feature performances by Aaron Watson and George Strait. An RSVP is required. Boots and black tie are optional.
