AUSTIN, Texas -- An arrest has been made in the slaying of a 26-year-old Austin man that happened this past September.

• Suspect already in jail for a different slaying
• Witnesses from other homicide connected suspect in second killing
• Victims did not know each other

Homicide detectives have charged Isaac Thomas Jr., 23, with murder in connection to the death of Joshua Hardesty.

Thomas was already in Bastrop County Jail, having been arrested for the November 6, 2018 slaying of Tony Lamar Huggins. Detectives learned about Thomas’ alleged involvement in Hardesty's killing after speaking with witnesses from the slaying of Huggins.

Police said that the two victims do not appear to have known each other, but both slayings were over the sale of marijuana.
 
Thomas’ bond has been set at $333,000.
