TEXAS – For more than 100 years the State Fair of Texas has celebrated local heritage, agriculture and the Lone Star State.

The 55-foot-tall symbol of Texas, Big Tex, is being installed at Dallas' Fair Park on Friday.

Big Tex will stand front and center when the fair opens on Sept. 28 and runs through Oct. 21.

People can chow down on some famous fair food like corn dogs and new additions like corn dog ale along with King Crispy Coconut Crab Sliders.
