TAYLOR, Texas — On Monday afternoon, a bicyclist in Taylor was struck and killed after colliding with a dump truck.
On June 11, 2018, at 3:06 p.m., Taylor police said they responded to a collision at the intersection of Sixth Street and North Main Street in which a dump truck collided with and ran over a bicyclist.
The bicyclist suffered massive internal injuries as well as head injuries and was dead on the scene. The dump truck was eastbound on West Sixth Street and was making a right turn to head southbound on North Main Street. The bicyclist was northbound on the sidewalk of North Main Street and just entered the crosswalk when he collided with and was run over by the dump truck.
The deceased has been identified as Michael Webb, 40, of Taylor. The driver of the dump truck is Steven Reyes, Jr., 24, of Hutto.
Texas DPS responded to the scene and assisted the Taylor Police Department. The investigation will continue. This is Taylor’s first fatal collision of 2018.
