AUSTIN, Texas -- America's oldest veteran will be be honored at Monday night's Travis County Democratic Party Dinner.
Richard Overton will be the Johnson Bentsen Richards Dinner Honoree. At the age of 111, he's the oldest veteran in the U.S. and calls East Austin home, on a street recently renamed in his honor.

He served in the South Pacific during World War II. The award is named after former president Lyndon Baines Johnson, former vice presidential nominee Lloyd Bentsen and former governor Ann Richards.
Tickets start at $150, but people will have to shell out at least $500 to get a photo-op with the guest of honor.
