HUTTO, Texas — The man found guilty of killing a Hutto police officer was sentenced on life in prison on Monday.

The Williamson County jury that found Colby Williamson guilty of killing Hutto Sgt. Chris Kelley in June 2015 also handed down the life sentence.

Witnesses testified Williamson was on drugs when Sgt. Kelley tried to stop him for speeding.

Investigators said there was a struggle between the two inside Kelley's patrol car, when Kelley fell out and Williamson ran over him.

Kelley was 38 years old, a husband and father of two.
