AUSTIN, Texas - This year's Sound on Sound Fest is cancelled, which the festival's organizers announced on Friday.

"Due to several recent roadblocks outside of our control and in an effort to do right by our fans, the decision to cancel the event was our only real option," according to a statement released by the concert organizers.

Organizers didn't elaborate on what the "roadblocks" were.

Those who purchased a ticket through Eventbrite will receive a full refund to their debit or credit card, while those who brought a physical ticket should contact info@soundonsoundfest.com to have their refund processed.

The festival was scheduled to run from November 10 to 12 in Sherwood Forest in McDade, Texas. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, Iggy Pop and The Shins were the scheduled headliners.

Organizers said that they plan to reschedule artists at venues throughout Austin, and Sound on Sound ticket holders will have first access to those tickets.

The Sound on Sound Fest was started by the people behind the long-running Fun Fun Fun Fest, which folded in 2016 after ten years.
