Alex Stockwell was born and raised in New Braunfels as a proud and mighty Unicorn. She later upgraded from one horn to two when she attended the University of Texas at Austin to become a Longhorn.

Alex began her journalism career at the NBC affiliate station in McAllen, Texas where several of her stories covering the immigration crisis were picked up nationwide. From there, Alex returned home to Central Texas to join the Spectrum News team in Austin. During her time in Austin, Alex has covered several major stories, including the Austin bombings in 2018, the ongoing Rodney Reed case, and several features on Richard Overton, the nation's oldest living WWII veteran. She started as a fill-in anchor before eventually moving to weekends. Now, she loves helping people start their day on the weekday morning show!

Alex is a passionate San Antonio Spurs fan and, of course, cheers hard for all Longhorn sports. When she's not delivering the morning news, she enjoys spending time with her husband, eating as much queso as she can, and exploring the outdoors with her dog, Molly.
