Wednesday promises to be quiet for the Lone Star State. Very dry air and lighter winds will allow parts of North Texas to fall to the upper 30s and low 40s in the morning with central regions in the 40s and low 50s to the south. South winds return and a surge of low-level moisture begin Thursday with warmer temperatures as a result.

Today's Big Stories
1. China, Mexico and Canada retaliate as Trump tariffs take effect
President Donald Trump launched a trade war Tuesday against America's three biggest trading partners, drawing immediate retaliation from Mexico, Canada and China and sending financial markets into a tailspin as the U.S. faced the threat of rekindled inflation and paralyzing uncertainty for business.
Just after midnight, Trump imposed 25% taxes, or tariffs, on Mexican and Canadian imports, though he limited the levy to 10% on Canadian energy. Trump also doubled the tariff he slapped last month on Chinese products to 20%.
2. Texans at a 'potentially historic' risk of wildfires Tuesday
Dangerous and "potentially historic" fire weather conditions for wildfires are expected Tuesday across Central and South-Central Texas. A cold front that brought showers and storms to the state early Tuesday morning has passed, and in its wake leaves very gusty winds.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has a rare "level three" risk for extremely critical fire conditions for Austin, San Antonio, Del Rio and all points west along Interstate 10.
3. Report: Mavs star Kyrie Irving out for the season with torn ACL
The already depleted Dallas Mavericks were dealt another blow this week with reports that star guard Kyrie Irving will be out for the season with a torn ACL.
Sources told ESPN and the Associated Press that Irving suffered the season-ending injury in his left knee late in the first quarter of the Mavericks’ loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because an announcement hadn’t been made.
4. Speaker Johnson tells GOP lawmakers to skip town halls after an onslaught of protests
House Speaker Mike Johnson is encouraging Republican lawmakers to skip town halls that have been filled with protesters decrying the Trump administration's slashing of federal government, echoing the president's claims that the demonstration's are fueled by professional protesters.
The speaker's advice Tuesday comes as GOP lawmakers often find themselves at a loss to explain the cuts, led by billionaire Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, that are leaving federal workers suddenly out of jobs in communities from coast to coast.
