The snow hasn't let up in the North Country since last week.

The area dealt with two feet of lake effect snow Saturday and Sunday. Then, more snow and ice storms Wednesday and Thursday.

The region is ending the week with possibly another two feet of snow.  Some schools have been canceled multiple times this week.

For many native Northern New Yorkers, this is just another North Country winter. But with a large number of fort drum soldiers in the area, the snow can be an issue.

"It’s really important to know what your vehicle handle is like in these slippery conditions,” said Jefferson County sheriff Colleen O’Neill. “Four-wheel drive doesn't help you in a white out. You have to see where you're going. We really ask people to heave our warnings and not to travel if you don't have to."

Travel advisories in Jefferson and Lewis Counties are in effect until further notice.
