Watertown school district voters have approved a capital project to address infrastructure.

The $110 million proposal was given the green light by a 678-138 vote, according to the district. The Watertown district includes the towns of LeRay, Pamelia and Rutland as well.

"This vote reflects the shared belief that when our schools thrive, our entire community thrives," said Superintendent Larry C. Schmiegel in a statement. "By investing in our schools, we are investing in the future of our children and the continued success of our district."

A message on the district website from Schmiegel, posted before the vote, claims the capital project will have "ZERO tax impact on our community" and handle boiler, roof and window upgrades.
