Our temperatures cool and the daylight hours become noticeably shorter.
August in Rochester brings a noticeable change to our weather as the nights grow longer and the temperatures cool.
There will still be plenty of hot and humid weather in Rochester and the Finger Lakes, but over the past several years we have had a punch of chilly weather around the third week of August. A little hint of what is coming down the proverbial weather road.
We have had a beautiful summer and lets hope it continues this month.
While we have some below-average temperatures during the first week, we expect another weather stretch of above-average temperatures by the weekend of the 8th and 9th. It looks like the average to above-average temperature pattern will continue for most of the month.
We average 3.47 inches of rain during the month and like July, most of our precipitation comes in the form of scattered showers and storms.
