Born and raised in Webster, Michael currently lives in Gananda. After graduating with a degree in earth science in 1986, Michael spent time living in Colorado, Florida and St Croix working in construction. In 1993, Michael returned to Rochester and attended SUNY Brockport graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in meteorology. Michael is happy to be able to work in his home town of Rochester and raise his children Hannah and Reis with his wife Colleen.
Michael joined the Spectrum News 1 team in 2003 and became the Director of Meteorology in 2005. A rooted part of the community, each day, Michael looks forward to providing his viewers with the latest forecast. This Press Club Award winner recalls the many major weather events that have occurred over the years. During these times, Michael emphasizes the importance of delivering the facts to his viewers in the most timely and responsible manner possible.
Some of Michael’s favorite things to do in Rochester include boating on Lake Ontario, exploring the great eateries around the city, and golfing. Fun fact about Michael is that he has worked as a dishwasher, roofer and pizza maker! When he’s not telling us about the weather, you can find him spending time with his wife of 25 years and two children.
