A former official in the town of Greece has pleaded guilty in the grand larceny case against her.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office says former Deputy Town Supervisor Michelle Marini, 63, has pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of first-degree offering of a false instrument for filing.

The DA's office says Marini admitted to stealing more than $1,000 from the town, which was used for goods and services during work that was performed at a property she owned on Torrey Pine Drive. Marini also admitted to intentionally submitting a false campaign filing to the New York State Board of Elections. According to the DA's office, Marini wrote herself a check for $654 and didn't disclose it to the board of elections while she was the treasurer for the Friends of the Greece Republican Committee.

“We trust our public servants to be good stewards of our tax dollars and to want what is best for the community and its residents,” said Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley. “From using taxpayer dollars for personal use to knowingly filing a false instrument to [the] New York State Board of Elections, it is clear that Michelle Marini does not have any respect for the Town of Greece. The defendant betrayed the trust of the community by using these resources meant for Greece residents and the community center to do work on her personal property. This is unacceptable and proof that the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office will not tolerate this type of governmental abuse. I look forward to Ms. Marini’s commitment to pay restitution to the town.”

Marini was deputy town supervisor from 2014 through December 2023. She most recently held the title of director of constituent services with the town of Greece — a position she held until she resigned on June 24, 2024.
