Rochester police say Mt. Read Boulevard has reopened after it was temporarily shut down in both directions on Tuesday after a crash that caused the collapse of a pedestrian bridge.
Police say a roll-off dumpster-type truck with its rear in the up position struck the pedestrian bridge at around 11:15 a.m. Officials say a blue Kia then hit the fallen debris.
Officials say the truck driver is being evaluated for a minor injury while the driver of the Kia was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Mt. Read was closed for nearly seven hours before reopening as crews worked to clear debris.
An investigation is underway.
