INTERLAKEN, N.Y. — People in the Interlaken Water District being told to boil their water for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth.

This is due to recent heavy rains flooding the area around the well head.

Residents are being told to boil their water for at least a minute, which the Seneca County Health Department says will kill most bacteria and other organisms in the water.

The health department is running tests on the water and will announce when it is safe again.

For more information, you can head to the Seneca County Health Department Facebook page, call them at 315-539-1945, or check out the village's website.
