Irondequoit Town Supervisor Andrae Evans is suing the town and its board after being censured for alleged sexual harassment, according to court paperwork.
The censure happened after a report surfaced last month accusing Evans of sexually harassing an employee and retaliating against them until they resigned.
In the lawsuit, Evans claims the board acted unlawfully and outside its authority. He is seeking a temporary restraining order to pause the resolution until a hearing is scheduled.
The Irondequoit Town Board continues to recommend he resign.
The Monroe County District Attorney's Office is investigating the incident for any potentially criminal conduct.
Spectrum News 1 has reached out to Supervisor Evans for comment on the ongoing situation and is awaiting a response.
