The Monroe County District Attorney is now conducting an investigation into potential criminal conduct by Irondequoit Town Supervisor Andrae Evans.
Sandra Doorley's office says it comes after a referral from the Irondequoit Town Board and Irondequoit Police Department.
Evans has been in office since last January.
A report made public two weeks ago alleges that Evans made sexually inappropriate comments to a town employee and then sought retaliation.
The DA's office will review the current findings and conduct an outside investigation to determine if any criminal charges are necessary.
Spectrum News 1 has reached out to Supervisor Evans for comment and is awaiting his response.
