The Ontario County Humane Society called the "Naples 85" case the department’s worst case of animal abuse in the county’s history.
On Friday, one of the two people charged in that case was arrested on animal cruelty charges again.
Jane Justice, 70, was stopped by an Ontario County sheriff’s deputy in the parking lot of a CVS in the Town of Richmond.
The sheriff’s office said Justice had six Cairn Terrier puppies inside, infected with parasites and fleas. The puppies are reported to be between two and three months of age.
Officials said Justice separated the puppies from their mother, which she had turned over to the Livingston County Dog Control Office on September 25.
Justice is now facing six counts of animal cruelty.
Justice and her husband Richard are already facing 70-plus counts of animal cruelty after 85 dogs were found inside their Naples home.
Nearly all of those dogs were recently adopted following a massive campaign to find them homes.
The shelter says some of the dogs still need some care before they can be adopted.
