Most of the dogs, now known as the Naples 85, are going to be available for adoption soon.
The Ontario County District Attorney's Office said Richard and Jane Justice relinquished their rights to the dogs. The couple is facing charges of animal cruelty after the animals were found in filthy conditions in their Naples home.
The Ontario County Humane Society says it's received more than 200 applications from people who want to adopt or foster the puppies. After determining if folks are a good fit, the organization will pick names from a hat to determine who will get to take home a dog.
All the animals have to be neutered first.
If you're interested in adopting, the Humane Society suggests getting that application in by Friday, August 23.
The Justices are due back in court next month.
