It has been a long and busy week for the Greece Police Department and School District.

The week began with an investigation that put an end to a potential bombing in Islamberg. The week ended with a five-hour standoff at Affinity Orchard Place Apartments.

Leaders say they're thankful for the collaboration with so many agencies.

“I was notified within 10 minutes of the incident, by the time I got here there was probably 60 or 70 law enforcement officers from every jurisdiction just willing and we set up a command post," said Andrew Forsythe, Greece Deputy Chief. "'Hey boss what can I do, what do you need me to do' and honestly going around the state and visiting other law enforcement agencies. What we have here is unparalleled. From K-9’s to swat teams to offering state police drones. It was impressive to see. Chaotic, but impressive.”

The shooting was located just down the street from West Ridge Elementary Schools prompting a delayed start. This wasn’t the first decision the police and school district made together this week. It was four Greece Odyssey Academy students that led officials to the four suspects accused of plotting the bombing is Islamberg.

“This entire office was jam-packed with security administration police, but was really great about Friday was how much synergy there was between the groups. They really worked together all the groups even though we’re from different people, different places, the police and the school we work together,” said Jeff Henley, Greece Odyssey Academy Principal.
