The Rochester Board of Education has released a timeline to find a new superintendent.

While it will not release any names, the board says there are up to five candidates for the interim position. The board plans to interview those candidates next week and announce their final decision on May 10.

The search comes as current Rochester City Schools Superintendent Carmine Peluso is set to leave at the end of June. Last month, it was announced that Peluso had been named the new superintendent of the Churchville-Chili Central School District.

The Rochester Board of Education says they'll contract an outside firm to find Peluso's permanent replacement before the interim superintendent serves a full year.
