ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department has released the names of the man fatally stabbed at an apartment on Resolute Circle and the suspect accused of killing him.

Officers says 36-year-old Evan Guzman knocked on 52-year-old Ted Morris Sr.'s door and then stabbed Morris multiple times.

Morris' body was found during a welfare check by police Monday morning.

Police say Evans fled the scene and was arrested later in the day.

RPD says Guzman and Morris knew each other, but would not comment on a motive.

Authorities say Guzman has an extensive criminal history. He was released from prison in April. Police say he has three prior felony convictions, including criminal sex act involving a child under the age of 13.

Guzman is set to be arraigned Tuesday morning on a second-degree murder charge.
