Victor grad Emily Hawryschuk is returning to Syracuse women's lacrosse for another season.
In eight games her senior season, Hawryschuk scored 39 goals, good for second in the Nation. The Orange going 7-1 before COVID-19 forced the NCAA to cancel all spring sports.
Hawryschuk was also among the leading candidates for the Tewaaratan Award, given to the top men's and women's lacrosse players in the Nation.
When she called coach Gary Gait to inform him that she was returning for another year, Gait answered the phone, "is this Emily Hawryschuk of the 2021 National Champion Syracuse lacrosse team?"
She and goaltender Asa Goldstock from the Albany area both announcing they were returning on Friday. Hawryschuk entered the season with 154 career goals.
