Cashless tolling will be in full effect on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge starting at midnight on Wednesday, July 7 according to Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Vehicles with E-ZPass tags will be automatically charged through the non-stop tolling system, while a toll bill through Tolls by Mail NY will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicles that pass through without one.

"A modernized, high-tech transportation system is essential to keeping our economy competitive in the twenty-first century, and we are utilizing the most up-to-date technology to make this happen," said Governor Cuomo. "With the installation of cashless tolling at Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, we are making travel across the Hudson River more seamless and tolling more cost-effective for all."

Motorists should expect delays around 11:50 p.m. on July 6 as the system switches over and drivers are re-routed through the right lane of the current toll plaza.

The rehabilitation of the old toll booths is set to last through August.
