Poughkeepsie City School District officials have provided an update on the budget planning process for the 2025-2026 year.
District staff say their goal is to draft a budget that will provide a high-quality educational experience to all students. Key areas in which district costs are expected to rise include salaries, student services, health insurance and pension costs.
The school is encouraging parents and guardians to attend an informational session on Feb. 22 at Poughkeepsie Middle School to learn more about the budget and ask questions.
The first draft of the budget is scheduled to be presented at the March 19 Board of Education meeting.
