The woman charged in the recent murder at Skyline Apartments in Syracuse has waived her case to a grand jury.

Victoria Afet, 23, pleaded not guilty to first degree murder and burglary last week. She's accused of killing 93-year-old Connie Tuori back in February. Connie's body was found three weeks later when her family requested a welfare check.

The district attorney says there is video evidence of Afet following the victim into her apartment. Afet has a long criminal history and was arrested more than 10 times in the last year.

If convicted of murder, she faces life in jail without parole.

In the last six months, officers have responded to calls more than 500 times to the Skyline apartment building.

Earlier this week, the department reached a police detail agreement with the owner. Under the agreement, a police detail will run from 4-10 p.m., seven days a week. The owner will reimburse the city on a monthly basis.
