Q: What is happening with all the new traffic lights on Buckley Road, County Route 57 and Electronics Parkway
A: There do seem to be quite a few new traffic signals that have gone up this fall and winter in Onondaga County. A few of them primarily are in the Town of Clay area.
We reached out to Onondaga County DOT and they said this week they are hopeful to have these three in full operation or starting operation.
On Buckley Road at Dolshire Drive, in front of the new Brooklyn Pickle and former Hafners Red Barn, there are brand new lights in all directions with a camera to help with timing the lights. National Grid is expected to supply power to these signals this week. Once that happens, the lights will go on flash for one week, with signage to warn drivers of the new signals to go active the following week.
The lights on Oswego Road and County Route 57 at Wetzel Road and Pine Hollow are active now.
The new lights on Electronics Parkway, which underwent major construction last year, are still waiting for some additional work before they are ready to be in operation.
