Winter storm warnings have expired across the Capital Region as our nor'easter finally begins to exit the region.

What You Need To Know

  • Lingering flurries taper this afternoon
  • Snowfall amounts over two feet have been recorded
  • We remain very cold into tonight

Over two feet of snow has fallen around the Albany area, and we'll begin to see any lingering flurries taper by this evening.

What to Expect from Here

With the storm exiting, we'll be back to completely dry conditions by this evening.

Wind gusts could still reach 25 mph, so blowing snow will continue to cause hazardous travel. Pay extra attention to the roads if you have to be out and about.

Temperatures remain bitterly cold tonight, dropping into the low teens and single digits.

Check out some of the snowfall totals so far around the city.

With 22.7" officially measured at Albany International, the storm goes down as one of the top three largest December snowfalls in our record books. Today was also the snowiest December day on record, with over 19".
