A wind chill advisory is in effect today through this evening for the Capital Region, with wind chill as low as 15 to 30 below zero. A wind chill warning is up for the Lake George area of the North Country with the air feeling as low as 20 to 40 below zero.

According to the National Weather Service, "A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves."

Windy and partly sunny today with a high in the lower single digits. Tonight is mostly clear and blustery with a low a few degrees below zero.

Tuesday brings sunshine, continued breezy weather and highs in the single digits.

Things moderate a bit with highs in the upper 30s by Wednesday with a light wintry mix. We'll be even milder come Thursday with highs close to 40 and a mix of rain and snow.
