The state has released a new draft study examining the future of Route 787.

The state is looking to reconstruct the highway; improve quality of life for those who live nearby; and enhance access to the Hudson River. Based on previous studies and public input, this latest report outlines five different options.

The construction duration for each proposal ranges from 5-9 years with a price tag between $2.8 billion and $6 billion.

Additional public meetings are being held over the next few weeks in Albany. The next one is taking place Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Albany Capital Center on the first level. Other public meetings include:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the First Church, 110 North Pearl Street
  • Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 5-7 p.m. at the Albany Housing Authority, 200 South Pearl Street
  • Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Howe Library, 105 Schuyler Street
