A portion of the northbound Thruway reopened Thursday afternoon after a multiple-vehicle crash closed it for hours near Exit 23 in Albany.
The section of I-87 northbound from exits 23-24 was closed earlier for the investigation of a serious injury crash," but reopened before 4 p.m., according to State Police.

The Albany Permanent Professional Firefighters Association posted on social media that fire companies responded to a "multi vehicle collision with entrapment" and possible issues with hazardous materials.
