If you walk or bike in the city of Albany, then you know not every intersection is pedestrian friendly.
Now the Department of Planning and Development is looking to change that.
They are working on updating the city's Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.
For the next few days, they'll be testing out some potential changes at the intersection of Brevator Street and Melrose Avenue.
The crossing distance and speeds of vehicles entering the intersection will be reduced until Monday. That will help officials figure out whether the change will make the intersection safer for pedestrians.
Officials are also testing out the possibility of turning Melrose Avenue into a bicycle boulevard.
That would mean slower speeds and more signs to make it safer for cyclists.
If you notice the changes Friday and want to give your opinion on them, just speak up.
Planning Department staff will be at the site to receive feedback Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
