The NCAA men's basketball tournament, canceled this year due to COVID-19, will return to Albany in 2023.
The NCAA announced early-round and regional sites for the men's tournaments from 2023-26 on Wednesday, with the Times Union Center hosting first- and second-round games in the 2023 tournament. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, of which Siena College is a member, will be the official host.

The Times Union Center was to play host to first- and second-round games in the 2020 tournament before "March Madness" was called off amid the coronavirus pandemic. By the time tourney games tip off at the Times Union Center in 2023, it will have been 20 years since the NCAA men's tourney's last games in Albany.
The NCAA women's basketball tournament, which most recently held regional semifinals and championships at the Times Union Center in 2018 and 2019, will again host regionals in 2024.
