A number of family members of victims in the 2018 Schoharie limousine crash have reached a settlement with Mavis Discount Tire.
According to court documents, some families have reached an agreement in principle.
Prestige Limousine and Chauffeur operator Nauman Hussain was convicted of manslaughter charges last month. He was sentenced Wednesday to 5 to 15 years in prison.
During much of Hussain's trial, a large focus was on the brakes of the limousine involved in the crash. Hussain's defense attorney placed some of the blame on Mavis Discount Tire. Former manager Virgil Parks testified at trial that he billed Hussain for work that was never done.
Some families expressed their wish to see Mavis held accountable for its actions in addition to Hussain.
The next conference on this case, where possible settlements could be reached, is set for July 27.
