Schenectady city and county officials are monitoring the Mohawk River for ice jams and jam-related flooding.
Schenectady police say there's a flood risk along the city's riverbanks, especially near SUNY Schenectady and in the Stockade neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Niskayuna officials are also monitoring the river. Police Chief Jordan Kochan said in a statement that the risk of riverbank flooding includes the area of the Rexford Bridge through Lions Park.
Those living in low-lying areas of Schenectady should remain alert, officials say, and be prepared to evacuate buildings should it become necessary.
