A Schenectady man killed both of his parents at a home they shared before he jumped to his death off the Patroon Island Bridge on Thursday, according to law enforcement.

Jordan R. Miklowitz, 35, of Schenectady, was seen on the I-90 bridge that crosses over I-787 around 4 p.m. Before police arrived, he jumped and was found below the bridge deceased.

Authorities said Friday that when State Police patrolled his Morris Avenue home in Schenectady, they found his parents — David J. Miklowitz, 75, and Kathryn Miklowitz, 73 — both dead. An autopsy found they both died of blunt force trauma.

New York State Police on Friday said Jordan Miklowitz was the primary suspect in his parents' homicides, pointing to statements he made before his death and additional evidence they collected.

Both investigations are ongoing, troopers said.

The scene at the Patroon Island Bridge caused traffic delays for hours as investigators worked through rush hour.
